Eight articles were deemed by fellow writers worth seeding into Newsviner's Picks in December. All are great articles, but I am now a welfare queen. by Gretchen clipped by Tyler, is a great example of how Newsvine comes together to offer support. Maybe I am a bit impartial about the subject but the it takes a lot to go into the social services offices. "After three hours, my number is called. I hand the kind woman my paper work, she copies it off, tells me what I am missing, makes me an appointment and I go to my car. Inside, I lay my head on the steering wheel and sob a bit." It is really aggravating when the services that are there to help make beg for what is there to help you. No Gretchen, you are not a welfare queen, just an individual lie maybe more out there who need the help.
Short and simple, this by Deka Dee Me (Clipped by Scott (Scoop) Butki), speaks to many communities, since many communities have lost civil servants, but four Lakewood Police Officers get gunned down in Parkland Washington, there are no words that can be said to quench the loss. This is not about the politics of why, who or how. This is a about how a community mourns and tries to heal from a loss that can not be imagined."
I can't believe I just caught, The Vinny Awards. I would have loved to have caught this before and the final day of voting wast yesterday.
If only Ebeneezer Goode would delay the voting for another week or so I think he might get more votes. "Well...being that I am a Viner, and I think it's something fun and diverting for me to do...I'm going to put together the First Annual Vinny Awards....no awards show, no TV coverage...just me...and my articles...giving you guys awards." What a great idea.
The Arrogance of Man By The OttO Show (Clipped by Simplistic Reality), looks into the arrogance of men thinking they can effect a change on the world. Very interesting article, even for an atheist that might disagree with it. "The highly quotable GK Chesterton, besides the aforementioned quote, also said that those who don't believe in God don't simply believe in nothing – they believe in anything. And instead of relying on the big-G (God) for relief and sustenance and fulfillment, they rely on the little-g (government). But like the typical atheist complaint against organized religion, atheists and big-government secularists aren't content with subjecting just themselves to their beliefs; they need to subject everyone to them." We must into ourselves, humans, not god or government to get us out if the predicaments we find ourselves day in and day out.
The rest of the articles are for gamers, which I am not one of them but I am sure they will find it interesting. Division by Zero asks everyone to consider very well if the content of the article belongs to a certain group and is not spam.
