Well, after such small month of November it wass nice to see eight articles made it to Newsviner's Picks group, and there are some great looking titles. I'll be back, going to go read them, I missed every single one of them. My $1,000 Christmas Story, by o'stephanie, recounts how the author got an article publish in a magazine, sis were chosen and "Wish Upon a Snowflake" was one of the six it was the first story ever publish by the author and it paid $1,000, but "the story looked good on the page, and I eagerly searched for my byline. My first byline. I found the byline. There was a stranger's name there." Of all the things to happen, 5 editors missed the name was the wrong one. The short story is very warm and very believable, we should see a lot more good stories by this author.
The Everlasting Crush, by Charlie Accetta is a sweet story of the past, ending with unusual and sad ending, "the cat’s-eyeglasses were gone, but she still wore glasses. She looked almost the same as I remembered her from grade school, only a little older. Stationed above the picture and below her name stood the effective dates: 1956 – 1988. I feel somewhat dopey to admit that my heart sank a little for both of us, but mostly me." It really is sad when you remember someone you were so found of search them out to only find out they are no longer with us. A great piece to read, well written and how Charlie remembers kindergarten and first grade is calculus to me.
A most interesting article, Ethical obligations versus moral duties, What would you do? by Dowser asks the question of how to chose between your morality and ethics. not an easy question to answer and everyone will answer it differently, but looking at whom it will benefit or destroy would be the prudent way to chose, "How do I meet the ethical guidelines of my profession, yet ignore my moral conscience-- that voice that requires me to protect the health and well-being of my society? I can only hope that some means or methods would exist that I could do both. Somewhere, there is a line within my own soul and conscience that I cannot cross, for ethics, when it would present a real and present danger to the health and well-being of others- my moral duties. I hope that I never have to search for that." No matter how you slice it, whit that answer you can see how Dowser is a very moral and ethical individual and a good writer. And another great article by Dowser on what minerals are is here.
An article that asks to say something nice about the writer above you is here.
Jerry Verlinger announcing he was taking a break is here, wonder if he is back yet.d you do?
An article that simply asks What does it really mean to you, about X-mas.
All in all some great articles to read for the Month of December, 2010. Finally I got through that year, LOL! now to 2011, oh here is the link to the November Summary.
